My French Bistro. . .

Last week, I gave you this great idea to celebrate Valentine’s Day with your special guy or gal.  Did any of you do it?  Well, the husband and I didn’t do the Sur La Table cooking class.  You won’t believe they called us two hours before the class to tell us two spots had opened up. . .we were knee-deep in French cooking!  We turned on the french music, and I started preparing the dessert since it needed to be chilled for 1 to 2 hours. The husband cleaned/prepped/chopped ingredients for Mussels and prepared potatoes for cutting with our new french fry cutter.  If you don’t have one, get one!  The best! I prepared the salad the night before.  We set the table and sat down to a fabulous meal!  We had some frustrating moments, but all in all it turned out to be a very tasty meal and very romantic.  We sat by candlelight and enjoyed each other and the food too.  🙂

Our menu. . .

Mussels in White Wine Sauce

Truffle Salted Pomme Frites (skipped the parsley butter, added truffle salt)

Green salad w/ cucumber, radish, and tomato tossed with a Garlic Mustard Vinaigrette

Whole Wheat Miche loaf (bought at Wholefoods)

Salted Caramel Pot de Creme

Koehler White Wine and Grapefruit spritzer

Peek Into Our Bistro. . .

Look forward to our next cooking class. . .

Chat Later,
