Blue Ridge Olive Oil

Last weekend, I traveled with a few of my girlfriends to the Blue Ridge Mountains of Georgia for a quick girls trip. Five ladies and a baby…drove approximately 1 1/2 hours north of Atlanta and rented a cabin to enjoy some always necessary “girl time” in a different setting. Two of the ladies went white water rafting on Saturday, while three of us (and the baby) stayed behind and relaxed, chit chatted and watched movies.

One of the highlights of the trip was exploring downtown Blue Ridge before we left on Sunday. It was more than I expected yet everything I could imagine. A quaint stretch down Main Street is where we discovered Blue Ridge Olive Oil Company. Thanks to one of my girlfriends who was familiar with the store, I got lost in my happy place among the many flavors and samplings of olive oil and balsamic vinegars.

The staff was super friendly as they explained the tasting and bottling process.

I definitely sampled my fair share as my tastebuds were awakened with each flavor combination.

In my eagerness, I wanted to purchase several bottles. My favorites were Wild Blueberry Balsamic, Black Mission Fig Balsamic, Honey Ginger White Balsamic, and Green Chile Olive Oil just to name a few. This would have put me in quite the dilemma. But I was so excited to learn that I was able to custom my own sample box of flavors. The hard part was settling on the six flavors.

So, if you are looking for a local getaway, I highly recommend the Blue Ridge Mountains. Can’t wait to get back there for a getaway with the hubby or for apple picking at Mercier Orchards where we stopped for fresh picked apples and fried apple pies! Oh, and definitely more sampling at the Blue Ridge Olive Oil Company. But don’t worry, if you are not in the area, you can order some olive oil online. I’m sure you won’t be disappointed in any flavor you choose.
