Resto Spotlight: Spice to Table
My latest restaurant discovery is Asha Gomez‘s neighborhood eatery, Spice to Table. Located in the Old Fourth Ward neighborhood of Atlanta, just a short 10 minute walk from my house, this lovely Indian Patissere has become a quick favorite for me and the husband.
Spice to Table opened in August 2014 after the closing of Asha’s more formal dinner establishment, Cardamom Hill, which garnered rave reviews. I kicked myself for having never made it there but was excited when I found out that I could instead try her breakfast and lunch offerings, even closer to home.
The charming, relaxed atmosphere at Spice to Table makes you feel like you’re dining in your own home, or rather that of a close friend who is an impeccable host. The aroma is intoxicating and immediately warms you up. As you walk up to the food display and see the daily options, your tastebuds get all excited and you’re ready to settle in.
Pictured above is the curried chicken samosa, a chicken and potato frittata and the curried chickpea and potato cake kati. Yum, yum, yum! The authentic flavors pack a punch that encourage you to savor each bite. Not a morsel left on the plate.
We didn’t have room for dessert this time but doesn’t the carrot cake description read like a dream? I had the mango bread pudding on a previous visit and it was insanely delicious. I’ll have to make sure to save more room next time because the sweets are not to be missed.
Bottom line, if you are in the Atlanta area or coming for a visit soon, be sure to add Spice to Table to your “must eat” list. I promise, you will NOT be disappointed.
